Why It Matters
“This hackathon is Jhapa’s debut on the global tech stage,” says organizer Abiral Acharya. “It’s more than a competition it’s a platform for creators, coders, and visionaries to showcase their talent and collaborate on groundbreaking solutions.” The PUBG Hackathon is a transformative event for Jhapa, proving that innovation thrives beyond urban centers like Kathmandu. By bringing together Nepali and Indian developers, the event fosters a vibrant ecosystem of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.
The hackathon also serves as a catalyst for empowering local youth, particularly through its workshops for +2 students, which aim to spark interest in emerging technologies and financial literacy. These sessions provide practical knowledge and inspire students to pursue careers in STEM fields, contributing to Jhapa’s growth as a tech hub. Additionally, the event’s gamified structure makes it accessible and exciting, encouraging participants to think creatively under pressure while building solutions with real-world impact.
The inclusion of international teams elevates the event’s significance, creating opportunities for cross-cultural networking and knowledge exchange. By hosting this hackathon, DAJ is not only putting Jhapa on the map but also laying the foundation for future tech initiatives in the region. The mentorship and incubation opportunities for top teams ensure that innovative ideas have the potential to evolve into viable startups, driving economic and technological growth locally and beyond.
