The TTP report lays out the evidence in stark, simple terms. Researchers set up an account for a 15-year-old boy, the exact demographic Meta claims to be protecting. Here is what they found:

- With a single tap on the “Tags” tab and a second tap on the

hashtag, the platform unlocks a “world of brutal fight content.”
There were no warnings. No age gates. No resistance whatsoever from the platform. The “most restrictive” setting for teens, which Meta publicly boasts about, proved to be completely non-existent.
The Algorithm as an Accomplice
The failure goes beyond simple negligence. After accessing the initial fight videos, Instagram’s algorithm actively worked to radicalize the user’s feed, suggesting even more disturbing content.
The app’s own recommendation system prompted the teen account to follow hashtags like #fightvideos
