Renders showing the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air ahead of the event.
Apple is gearing up for its annual September event, and this year, the spotlight is on the iPhone 17 lineup. The event, aptly named “Awe Dropping,” is scheduled for September 9, and tech enthusiasts are buzzing with anticipation.
The star of the show is expected to be the all-new iPhone 17 Air, an ultra-thin model poised to replace the iPhone Plus. Drawing inspiration from the sleek Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be just 5.5mm at its thinnest point, featuring a 6.6-inch display with a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate. This model will sport a single rear camera and a smaller battery compared to its counterparts.
The iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models will retain a similar design to their predecessors but will boast a significant upgrade in the front-facing camera, which will now be 24 megapixels. All models in the iPhone 17 series are expected to feature 120Hz ProMotion displays. The Pro models will further differentiate themselves with a new pill-shaped camera bump, a next-generation processor, and an impressive 48-megapixel telephoto lens with up to 8x optical zoom.
All new iPhones will come pre-installed with the latest iOS 26, promising a host of new features and improvements. Mark your calendars for September 9 to witness Apple’s latest innovations.
